Our Company

Northumbrian Developments Ltd (NDL) was formed in 2003 to oversee the conversion of a range of derelict farm buildings into high-specification office accommodation for a local graphic design company.

This project built upon a decade of experience in new builds, refurbishments and conversions. Having successfully built two stunning new houses on greenfield sites, in 2002 we took on a derelict 17th century grade II listed farmhouse and steading near Rothbury, Northumberland and set about refurbishing the farmhouse and converting the redundant stone farm buildings into a range of new uses.

The refurbishment of the farmhouse included the installation of a water source heat pump which extracted heat from spring water on site and provided heat and hot water for the property.

This was the culmination of several year's enthusiasm for, and research into renewable energy, and led us into a whole new field of work, which has now become the main focus of our consultancy services.

In 2009 we gained approval for listing on the North East England Service Provider Register - providing both the possibility that your project may be eligible for funding through Business Link, and reassurance that we are a genuine compmany with all the necessary insurance cover and QA policies in place to protect your interests.
